Gingerbread latte
Ingredients:
For the gingerbread syrup:
1⁄2 cup molasses
1⁄2 cup brown sugar
1 1⁄2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1⁄4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 tablespoons water
For the latte:
2 cups milk
4 shots espresso
4 gingerbread cookies (optional)
Ground cinnamon (optional)
Method:
1. Combine molasses, sugar and spices in a saucepan and bring to a low simmer. Whisk in water, stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
2. Transfer to glass bottle or jar and set aside.
3. Warm milk in a large microwave-safe container for about 3 minutes, then whip until foamy and doubled in size.
4. Evenly pour gingerbread syrup and espresso into four mugs, then add remaining milk.
5. Garnish with gingerbread cookies and cinnamon. Serve immediately.
