Sugar cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups white sugar
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg

Method:

  1. Heat the oven to 190℃.
  2. Mix the flour, baking soda, and baking powder together with a wooden spoon.
  3. Beat the butter and sugar together until smooth. Next, beat in the egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add in the flour mixture and beat until well combined.
  5. Roll the dough into balls the size of walnuts and place them 5cm apart on prepared baking trays. Bake for 8-10 mins.
  6. Leave to cool on the trays for a few mins, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.
