Cheese straws

Ingredients:

250g flour
150g butter
1 cup grated cheese
ΒΌ cup cold water
1 egg yolk
Pinch of salt
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Pinch of mustard powder

Method:

  1. Sift the flour, salt, cayenne pepper and mustard powder together twice.
  2. Cut in the butter into the dry ingredients mix, then add the cheese
  3. Mix in egg yolk and cold water until it forms a pliable dough
  4. Knead dough lightly and place in the fridge for 20 minutes
  5. Remove from fridge and roll out very thin
  6. Cut dough into long strips (1cm x 8cm) and twist strips into corkscrew shape
  7. Place on a greased baking tray and bake at 220 degrees for 10 minutes
  8. Serve with locally made cream cheese dip and enjoy!
